Who is Doula Kristen?
I am a daughter, a wife, and the mother of three children. I am an educator, facilitator of pregnancy & new moms groups, a DONA trained postpartum doula, and passionate about supporting women! As a postpartum doula, I am able to share all of what I've learned - through education and life experience - to help women as they expand their families. My compassionate heart, love of babies (and moms!), and energetic spirit drew me to this work which I love so much.
What is the role of a post partum doula?
New motherhood can be overwhelming and exhausting. It is so important to get support during those early weeks. I hope to relieve some of the overwhelm and allow the family an opportunity to rest and be cared for. As your postpartum doula, I hope to make the transition to motherhood (or the addition of another child) smoother and calmer.
One of the greatest compliments I received from a client-mom was:
"You anticipated my needs before I knew I had them!"
As your doula I will make sure you are cared for, listened to, nourished, rested, feeling confident and organized. I will help with basic infant care, assist with breastfeeding/bottle feeding/pumping (and cleaning all those bottles & accessories!), prepare snacks and meals, entertain older siblings, assist with light housework, accompany you to doctor appointments, run errands, allow you to nap while I care for baby, and *most importantly* I will listen. I will listen as you share the story of your birth, listen as you voice concerns and share excitement, and listen to what your needs are so that I may best support you.
For more information, please email kristen@rinewmoms.com. I am available for a free consultation before -or after- your baby arrives.
